Christmas Times

It's Christmas time once again! Time for presents, food and midnight mass too! On Christmas, we always go to our grandma and grandpa's houses (we go to our father's parents house and our mother's parents house). Both Christmas parties had lots of delicious foods! My Brother and I stayed overnight at my mom's parents house on Thursday, so that we could help her set up for Christmas. It was very fun! We helped her make a gingerbread house, too! At my father's parents house my sisters and I received pajamas. I also got a bracelet kit and some other clothes. I'm not sure what else my sisters got except I know my little sister got a princess castle with a tunnel that she can go in and out of - she loves it! Me and my family also got a mini tennis table with paddles and balls.

Merry Christmas and Have a Happy New Year!

My trips

Now for the trips I said I'd tell you about months ago. My family and I went together on these trips. The first trip was going to Washington D.C. as part of a homeschooling group. We went to the Spy Museum, the Holocaust Museum, and lots of memorials. On the second trip we went to Washington D.C again, but as part of one of my dad's business trips. We spent must of our time in the Smithsonian area and going back and forth on the Metro to places. We had the most delicious ice cream at our hotel and the best breakfast buffet. On the third trip, we went to Springfield. It had many interesting sites. My favorite was the movie "Lincoln's Eyes" in the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library. It made the floor shake and the walls shoot cannon balls made of air at you it was very fun. And next, I will be going to North Carolina.

Pearl

My family and I got a cute white kitten from Paws Chicago a no-kill animal shelter a week ago. We named her Pearl she is a 8 month old domestic shorthair. She has golden eyes and purrs a lot. My sister spends half her time chasing her. Sorry about not doing a post since December but I've been busy going on lots of trips you will learn about that in a different post.

THE DAY IN THE SNOW

Last night it snowed. We really wanted to play in it, but first we had to get ready. So, on went the snow pants, then the coat, then the boots, gloves, hat, scarf, and scratchy earmuffs. When we got outside, we made snow angels and had a snowball fight. We made snow chairs and tunnels. Lastly we slid down the stairs (we had covered them in snow first).

Science Chicago

Science Chicago was going on in the Museum of Science and Industry. So we went. Here's what we did: 1. We used coffee filters, water, and markers to make pictures. 2. There was a giant pool full of oobleck, which is corn starch and water. 3. There were fun science experiments, and a bus that had puzzles, worms, microscopes, pens, pencils and notepads. There was an area with tons of blocks and dominoes. The Museum of Science and Industry is fun all the time, not just when special things are happening! For example, they have the theater and exhibits like the Coal Mine, Net World, Fast Forward, Toy Maker 3000 and lots of other stuff.

Pencil Sharpener

My little sister was playing camping, again! She got the biggest suitcase out of the closet, and in went four pairs of shoes and some clothes. After she was done playing, out went one shoe, some clothes and our BIG ELECTRIC PENCIL SHARPENER!!! My mom laughed so much when she saw Gianna "camping" with a pencil sharpener and my brother said, "Put that on your blog!"so I did.

The Trip To MSI

Me, my mom, my sisters and my brother went to the Museum of Science and Industry for their Members Only 75th Anniversary Open House and had lots of fun. There was a python and lots of other kinds of snakes. There were turtles and a lizard, but most exciting was the baby alligator! We went to a magic show and even that guy had a snake. There was someone who did face painting, and there was cake, ice cream, and lemonade. We made our own paper and I chose pink. I had a VERY fun time.
